I did my undergraduate studies at Edinburgh University and my PhD (in Irish judicial activism) at Queen’s University, Belfast. I joined Stirling’s Law School in 2007 and my major research interests at the moment lie in:

(1) conceptualising sectarianism, racism and “hate” in criminal law, and

(2) new conflicts among the strands of discrimination law.

I carry out research for external bodies, from charitable to governmental, and l’m always interested in hearing about projects outside the universities. I’m willing to help local groups (without charge) on occasion: I can be contacted at the address below.
